See you on Sunday at 10:30am. Need directions?
In 2019 the 8th month of the year is henceforth known as AugFast!
So what is Augfast?
On Sunday 28th July Mark shared at our Sunday Morning Gathering that some of us at CVC are feeling a growing sense that God is on the move (You will be able to listen again to Mark's talk on the website shortly). We are encouraged by the stories we are telling of seeing Gods kingdom come, the good news of Jesus shared, people prayed for, people coming to faith; and we sense God wants to do more. We are not sure what that is but we want to be part of it. So in keeping with the practice of the early church (See Acts 13:1-3 - God seems to speak ) we are going to fast and pray throughout August so that by speaking to God and interceding for our towns, villages and city, and listening to Him, we can join in with what He is doing.
So in August we will be fasting and praying one day a week (you choose which days suits you). You could
Give up food and/or drink for 24hrs, e.g. from 5pm on one day until 5pm the next day.
Give up food and/or drink for the day – i.e. from the time you get up until you go to bed.
If that is not possible how about giving up one meal one day a week
Parents how could you involve your children? Could they give up pudding one day a week so you can pray together, using the Skittles prayer resource from Vineyard Kids
Sign up for Augfast here and we'll send you some resources to help with your fasting and praying and also details on how you can record what you sense God is saying to you, so we can collate and share that.
God is always on the move and we want to join in; so have a great AugFast and we look forward to hear what God is saying. As a taster here is a video played at the start of Vineyards National Leaders Conference in January 2019 which captures are feeling of expectation
